Every year I summarize the previous year's 'irritations' and 'thankful pleasures' in a blog that I share. Normally I share it only with family since they're the only ones that mean anything to me at all. But this year, I"ve seen some real childish, mean, and vendictive stunts that deserve attention. I'm also adding a couple of laughable but sad happenings that have occurred locally to me but is worthy of global attention. When I chose my current default pic, I did so because it's a very rough, gritty view of me. My long hair is mostly hidden, but the ski cap and the bags under my eyes make me look murderous and rough. Reno police find girls that 18-year-old Californian allegedly brought her Reno police found the 12- and 13-year-old girls at the Kietzke Lane Walmart at around midnight on Tuesday. "They called us because they were cold and hungry," Reno Police Department Sgt. Chris Lang said. The girls are being held at the Jan Evans Juvenile Detention Center as runaways and to check on their welfare, police said. Meanwhile, Reno police arrested Blake Holmes, 18, of Ridgecrest, Calif., on four counts of sexual assault on a minor younger than 14 three counts of lewdness with a minor. His bail was set at $110,000. Police said he formed a relationship with the girls over the Internet and then brought them to the Reno area in a stolen vehicle.

2 Fire Fighters Killed, 14 Injured
The disturbing thing is I saw them bringing two of the fire fighters to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn this morning on my commute to work. Squad followed by ambulance, undercover cop and another squad. I knew something was up. Two Chicago firefighters were killed Wednesday morning after they were trapped when a wall collapsed at an abandoned, one-story, brick former laundry building on East 75th Street near South Shore High School. Four other firefighters also were trapped before being pulled to safety. Swarms of fellow firefighters flooded the disaster scene, furiously digging through rubble to find the missing firefighters. When they were located, they were quickly carried out of the building, with firefighters clearing a path. Recently I have had to get up at 7am on a cold winter morning. I know this is nothing new or wildly awesome but to me it’s insane. I discovered my vents were filthy the other day. 40-50 years of crapp in them possibly? The heater doesn't even have a space for a filter.
