Well, I had my surgery Tuesday and it is a success...so far anyway. He had to remove almost 60% of my disc, but in turn, I have no more leg pain. I do have oodles of other pain, and it really hurts to walk, but practice practice practice. I apologize to those of you who sent messages asking for help, but I've been preoccupied with this. But I should be off work till around Mar 1st, so I'll spend more timeon here. Jay

Bad Dream Wake Up Ha Ha
I went to bed late last night around 5am. I actually woke up before my alarm. I woke up a couple times. Had a couple bad dreams. One had to do with stupid yucky spiders....ugh, nasty buggers. Then my other dream was about something that I'm not going to say but I woke up yelling "Everybody uses me!!" I opened my eyes and rich was just looking at me all confused. When the social worker who located me referred to me as his "birthmother," my first reaction was to instinctively recoil in distaste. What is a "birthmother?" Court challenges by adoptees questioning the effect of sealed records law on civil rights and the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES: Yesterday's Children, an Illinois adoptee activist group, filed a class action suit in federal court in 1975. Their contention was that sealed records violated their constitutionally protected rights as articulated in the First, Fifth, Ninth and Fourteenth Amendments to the Constitution of the United States. NEVER SIGNED ANYTHING PROMISING IT TO ME AND NEVER WANTED IT.** One of the main concerns raised by those who oppose opening records to adult adoptees is that doing so violates their birth parents' right to privacy. Open records proponents have long argued that there is no right to privacy that extends to birth parent anonymity, and on February 11, 1997, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals handed down a decision confirming this view. [106 F.3d 703 (6th Cir. 1997)] In 1996 the Tennessee legislature passed a law granting certain adult adoptees access to their original birth certificates, subject to contact vetoes and significant exception clauses. Doctors 'rely On Chemo Too Much'
Doctors are being urged to re-think their approach to giving chemotherapy during care at the end of life. A review of 600 cancer patients who died within 30 days of treatment found that in more than a quarter of cases it actually hastened or caused death. The report by the National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Outcome and Death said doctors should consider reducing doses or not using chemotherapy at all. England's cancer tsar Professor Mike Richards said he was "very concerned". The group of patients the independent group was looking at represents 2% of the 80,000 people who receive chemotherapy each year. Been Busy...
What's this world coming to?!!! It seems that in this troubled world economy the threat of layoff's loom large everywhere. Remembering My Dad
My Dad ( 1908-1974) I was very fortunate growing up, I had a wonderful man for my dad. My Dad was born on Novemeber 15, 1908 in Burlingame CA. After all these years the house is still standing. My Dad and his parents moved to Reno, Nevada and thats where he met my mom. I was born March 19, 1952 in Reno Nevada. It was great growing up there. Dad use to race boats on Lake Tahoe and he really enjoyed it. My Dad and Grandpa had their own construction busines in Reno WAtkins and Son Millwork so I learned from an early age all about construction and yes I can still read blue prints lol. Daddy was Coast Guard certified so he could patrol the lakes in the Reno-Tahoe area. He loved it. I remember always going on the boat with him, yes i had to be certified too. Daddy could always take a gloomy day for me and turn it into a smile. He had this little tune he would always whistle. The Toe Story
I thought you all might get a smile from some of my stories, I have quite a few. This first one is from my Army days, when I was stationed in Berlin, and centers around my friend Jeff (last name will be deleted to preserve his anonymity). Some back story here, Jeff was a tall muscular black man, about 6'3" or 6'4", and around 230 pounds. Being in the military on the same team we got our weigh in together all the time so I'm pretty sure about those details. Bleh... I'm so frustrated with my weight. It's been at the same number for like a month!! I actually given up on diet soda for a month...it was hard cause I love Diet Dr. Pepper. I found that I had a keen sense in writing a few years back, and went rolling with it. Juicy And Creamy
I'm eating Yogurt covered raisins, and they taste just awful. I did get a kick out of the packaging slogan though: "Plump, juicy raisins generously coated with sweet, creamy yogurt." Am I that perverted and sick? I dunno...

Basic Lunch Soup
Ingredients 5 cups Organic Free Range Chicken Broth 3 stalks celery, chopped 1 medium onion, chopped 1 carrots, chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 1 tbsp. olive oil Directions -- Place olive oil in bottom of soup pot, and heat on medium. Brown minced garlic and onions. -- Add chicken broth and remaining veggies. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and let simmer for about 20 minutes. Number of Servings: 6

Breakfast Taters
Ingredients 2 medium potatoes, quartered, sliced, or chopped (your choice) 1 bell pepper, chopped (green, yellow, orange, red) 1 sweet onion, chopped 1-2 cloves garlic, minced Juice of two lemon wedges (approx 1 tsp) Dash of sea salt Dash of black pepper Directions Chop vegetables and mince garlic. Heat a nonstick skillet with approx 1 tsp olive oil. Add potatoes, onions, and peppers to the pan and cook until browned. Add garlic, salt, and pepper and cook for about 1 minute. At the very last minute, squeeze lemon juice over the mixture. Number of Servings: 3

Chicken And Veggie Breakfast Muffins
Ingredients 1.25 cups egg beaters (5 eggs) 1 boneless skinless chicken breast (cooked and shredded) 1/2 medium onion diced 1/2 cup mushrooms diced 2 ounces frozen broccoli (Thawed and diced) 1 cup frozen cauliflower (thawed and diced) 2 Tbsp non-fat milk 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil (to saute veggies) 3 ounces of Swiss cheese cut into small strips salt and pepper to taste Directions Preheat oven to 350. Boil chicken and once cooled, shred. In a large skillet, add olive oil and saute onion, mushrooms, thawed broccoli and cauliflower, and shredded chicken. Saute until tender. In a large mixing bowl stir together eggs, milk, and sauteed mixture and spoon evenly into muffin pan sprayed with non-stick cooking spray or lined with muffin papers. place a few strips of cheese on the top of each muffin. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until firm throughout. Makes 12 muffins

Ingredients: * 2 oz Scotch * 1/2 oz Peppermint schnapps * 3 oz Club soda * 1 twist of Lemon peel Mixing instructions: Pour the Scotch, schnapps, and soda into a highball glass almost filled with ice cubes. Stir well. Garnish with the lemon twist.

Ingredients: * 2-3 scoops Vanilla ice-cream * 1 shot Milk * 1 1/2 oz Jägermeister Mixing instructions: Mix in blender by adding the ice cream first, followed by the milk, then the Jägermeister. Blend until smooth

Ingredients: * 1 oz Whiskey * 1 oz Rum * 1 oz Tequila * 1 oz Vodka * 2 oz Coca-Cola * 1/2 tblsp Sugar * 3 Ice cubes Mixing instructions: mix everything except cola, sugar and ice in glass. then stir in sugar. then add ice cubes. finally, pour in cola. stir three times. drink.

Ingredients: * 3 oz Cranberry vodka (Finlandia) * 1 splash Lemon juice * 1 splash Cranberry juice * Rim glass with Sugar Mixing instructions: Shake and strain cranberry vodka into a sugar rimmed cocktail glass. Add a splash of lemon juice and cranberry juice. For decoration, insert a stirrer through a slice of lemon to bridge over the glass.

It's Only 12:49am
....and already it is a bad day. For those who don't know my dear Mother passed away recently. The Family is doing what we can to pull together & cope. It's hard to believe it's been just over a week. It feels like an agonizing eternity. She would have been 57 today. I miss her so much. She truly was someone special. She was known & admired by so many. When I say a huge hole was left in the world with her passing I really mean it. I don't even want to think of how I would have turned out without her as a mom. We didn't always agree & even through she didn't understand some of the choices I made in life she still supported me. She's the reason I even have creative blood in my veins at all to begin with. Right now I will "medicate" & try to get through the day any way I can without losing my mind, life, or freedoms.

Should Be Happy
My son's wife had a baby boy on the 8th. It should be a happy occasion but its not. We are not sure if the child is his or not. His wife has barely talked to my son since he got shipped over to Iraq. Plus while she was pregnant she never did any of the medical tests you are suppose to do while being pregnant. It is also my birthday weekend. I am not really in the mood to celebrate. We will be doing a two day celebration. One of friday at Ellis and then one on saturday and Andy Capz. We have to do two different ones because not everyone can make it on both day. I am also having massive pain again. Its to the point that I can't sleep and with it now my stomach is worse. I can't get any medical tests done because of no money and no insurance. I'm listening to music, that I haven't listen to in a few years. And it just reminds me of an innocent time in my life. A time that I wish I could be back to. Hey all, The reason why I am watching all these movies is because I am really sick and tired of not being able to have a conversation w/ one or a group about a movie that EVERYONE has seen...for example...like, "omg you know that seen in goodfellas when blah blah blah...blah blah blah" and i'm like "no", and they're like "OMG!, you never seen that movie??" I don't know what it is but I feel really unappreciated in this house. It seems that the only thing they want me around for is a babysitter or someone to see things online that I really do not care for. I have tried to talk out my problems but they DO NOT CARE. So here I am sitting in my empty house, half drunk on rum I SWORE I wouldn't drink alone, singing "unforgettable" to the glow of this TV screen and a cheap scented candle. I'm single. That's what's different about this week. I used to think of myself as... recently cheated on, damaged goods, recovering from an abusive relationship any other litany of excuses, but... the truth is I'm single. There are times when we realize that no matter what we do, nothing salvageable shall ever come out of it none. Wanting to go forth doing our best to both have those we love and care or be proud and happy for us, yet realizing thi dream shall always be just that, a dream. So dating sucks. I've never really done it before and I totally hate it. As some of you have noticed I haven't been around much in the past month. I screwed up my back 4 weeks ago. Since my computer was next to my bed and I couldn't lay in my bed or sit on it to be on the puter I had stay offline. Prayers Needed For My Daughter And Her Baby
My youngest daughter, Jessi, is having problems with her pregnancy. The doctor is thinking of inducing labor friday, depending on some test results, or at the latest, next week. Her blood pressure is going up again, she is retaining fluids, and the doctor is concerned that her kidneys may be swelling. She is 37 weeks along now so the baby should be fully developed. I'm a little heart broken tonight because my very loving and beautifull wife is leaving me tonight. She's an Army soldier, and was home on leave for 2 weeks, in lue of going to her new assignment. She was at Ft. Gordon for almost a year, completing her A.I.T.training. In the time she was at Ft. Gordon, I only got to see her twice. Once in June, and again in September. Being an Army spouse can be trying, even for a man! It could be another year before I get to see my wife again, if she doesn't get shipped to the middle east. We're hoping she will get leave again for Christmas and New Year's, but we don't know how that's going to work out yet. I'm hoping that if she can't come home, I can go out there for our Anniversary(12/27) at least. My sweetheart is headed for Ft. Lewis, Washington...a hell of a long way from here. Update On Angel 11/12/08
Hi everyone, I am having an extraordinarily difficult today. Angel passed away at 4:43 yesterday and its been so hard to understand why such tragedies happen to the young. He was not a trouble maker by any means, he was a great student, and was enlisting into the Marines and was set for his basic training in December. Though he was in the DEP (Delayed Entry Program) the Marines have also suffered a loss of a fine young man, one with the valor of honor, strength, compassion, and kindness. Great values if I must say so myself. We have made the final arrangements and it was always his request should he die he wanted us all to know that his desire was to be cremated. We our having a memorial tomorrow morning, and the cremation is also tomorrow. God bless him, as we were forever blessed to have him in our lives for as long as we did. From Seduce My Mind: 1 Coffee Mug 4 tablespoons flour(that’s plain flour, not self-rising) 4 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons baking cocoa 1 egg 3 tablespoons milk 3 tablespoons oil 3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional) Small splash of vanilla Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. I don't know when I've been more excited. It's Hump Day, the downside of a short work week, and things just seem right. i work for a very small company. at the moment, we employ eleven people. that includes the owners. when i first started this job, spare office space was non-existent. the only place for my office was the attic. it wasn't so bad there, except for the lack of windows, the wasps, the mice, the dust and spiderwebs, and the fact that i shared my space with the furnace and water heater. it was too hot in the summer because there was no air conditioning vent, and it was too hot in the winter because of the furnace. otherwise, i had no complaints - except for the fact that my lighting was insufficient. we started growing, and we expanded production into two more buildings that had previously been used for storage. we cleaned out and renovated an office for me in one of those. now i have a window. i don't have heat, so i bought a space heater. it works ok so far, but i doubt it will be enough to keep things comfortable when winter comes. this brings me to the point of this post

My Life
Just a few lines to touch base with everyone. I haven't been ignoring anyone, so please don't think I have been. I have a lot of stuff going on right now that is keeping me busy in real life. My daughter is in the hospital due to pre-term labor. She isn't due until January 31st but has been in the hospital for the last week and a half. They are doing everything they can to stop delivery for as long as they can but we aren't sure how long that will work. With her being in the hospital of course I have her son here with me. He is 2 1/2 so he keeps me busy around the clock. And of course with me working 7 nights a week it has been far from easy. But we will make it. We always do. All I would ask from my friends and family is please...when you lay down at night please say a prayer for my daughter and the granddaughter she is about to have. She only weighs a little over 2 lbs right now so we need her to just hang in there a little longer. And please understand why I'm not here as much as I

With my trip coming up fast and so much going on it's been difficult keeping up with this blog. Last Friday I was out with the girls and had a wonderful time. A lot of laughing and silliness. Our high spirits ended up drawing a lot of attention. I even caught a few guys "checking me out". This has been happening more and more lately, at work, on the street, in stores. It makes me a little self concious but I must admit on a certain level I do enjoy it. Last Saturday I met my Mom for lunch and had to tell her about my plans. She was not pleased,worried Dad was just using me again but I was able to reassure her I knew what I was doing and this was something I truely wanted. She can be a little over protective especially when it come my Dad but I love her any ways. In the end she accepted the situation and we spent the rest of the day shopping.
