Facing Adversity with a Smile I woke up listening to mourning doves in the pine tree outside my window this morning. I went out onto the balcony, and a soft breeze was blowing. well, i took the asvab's today. i left to go to the recruiter's office around 215. we left there to head to the test site around 4. we were running a little bit behind schedule. we made it to the test site at about 5. well, the test was suppose to start at 5. needless to say it didnt start till about 530. we didnt get done until about 8-815. i wasnt about to wait until midnight to get my results. i will get them tomorrow. i finally made it home at about 9-930. The Shocker
So I absolutely do not understand the sudden obsession with "the shocker." I swear like every other picture I see is someone making that gesture, and even in "real" life I have been seeing it and hearing references about it. I Saw A Psychiatrist Today!
This was my first visit to this Psychiatrist. My therapist recommended him because she is worried about me. haha there's nothing greater than knowing you make your therapist worry about you! Well, apparently among my other problems (that I have already had diagnosed)he diagnosed me with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I knew I had it but had never been diagnosed. Anyway, he wants me to take Celexa. I am suppose to start off on 40mgs a day and then after a week boost it to 60mgs. Then when I see him for my one month "check up" if it's not working he might boost it to 80mgs. I am not even gonna get my hopes up. I want it to work because I am tired of crying all the time and being so depressed and stressed out, but I am well aware of the fact that it is a 50/50 chance. I took Celexa a couple months ago but he said that since the doctor who prescribed it for me had me on such a low dose that that's why it didn't work. Anyways... whatever. TTFN

When I got back into education, I originally was a teacher's aide for a self-contained classroom for the severely and profoundly handicapped. 1st Tat And Piercing
Well this weekend was a special one for me. On Saturday my daughters and I headed to Vegas so my oldest could get her first tattoo. You may wounder why Vegas, because California doesn't allow anyone under 18 to get a tattoo. My daught is 16 and in Vegas she could get one with my conscent, which I was very happy to do. Then on Sunday my younger daughter decided that she wanted to get her tounge pierced. So I called around to try and find a good place to have it done. Neways at a routine check the other day my dr found 3 lumps in my right breast. Tomorrow I go for a biopsy and to be honest with you I am scared to death!! I guess most of you know that I work in a pet store. It was a good day for funny there today. lol I have a few parrots at the store that are tame with me and will sit on my shoulder all day long while I work. Everything fell to shit. My daughter fell and smashed her forehead on the kitchen floor so she's bruised with a big ole swollen egg on her head. Then I find out that my "man" is in the Emergency Room. He was losing his hearing, his heart was skipping beats, he felt nautious and dizzy. Update On Me
Well, it's time to update all my blogs. I typically type out one entry and put the same thing on each of my webpages, so if you've read one of my blogs, you've likely read them all. So anyone that has links to more than one of my pages, don't feel the need to read the blog update on each page, lol. Well, for those that don't know, I've been sick as all holy hells since early November. Having a hard time keeping food down, severe stomach pain, throwing up, yeah, it's been great fun. We've now done blood work, I got the dignity of peeing in a cup, an ultrasound, and an endoscopy. Joy. Well, I now apparently know what gallstones feel like. I got back to the doc in 2 weeks, if I can last until then, to find out if they are going to do the surgery to remove it. I say let them take the thing since I don't really need it anyways. Other than that, things are going well. I'll be taking a trip to Chapel Hill on the 25th. Also for those that don't know, I go down there about every 3 months

Checking In...
We've been just working away in the studio, writing some pretty cool stuff I think. I'll try to keep the site updated as often as possible. Someone asked How is the songwriting process different with the new band? Pretty interesting. We do a lot of jamming on certain stuff, and just kind of let the vibe flow. We also take more of a song writing approach at times, Me sitting in my music room coming up with riffs and progression then letting justin do his thing over it. An initial riff, rarely remains the original riff for very long. We allow ideas to grow if they are good, and go if they are not. I just want to say that the support here has been incredible!!!!!!! I can't wait for everyone to hear the c.d. we have been working on. With any luck I'll be posting a new song every month on our myspace page until it comes out but we will see. Things this far back are always foggy, but let's try a theory on for size. When the Rroma (the Gypsies) left India, some of them had Ravnos traveling with them. I don't think a lot did, but some did. A Week And..
It has been one week and 3 days since I smoked my last cigarette. I don't feel any healthier than I did a week ago. Cold Case Observance
Last night I arrived at my hotel early and decided to watch some TV before going to bed. During the show, I happened to notice the clock in a particular scene. The time on the clock was 9:27. I don't know about other people, but when I see a clock I have to know what time it is. So I checked the time on my cell phone, and it was also 9:27. So yesterday I wake up and discover that I went from 330.4 to 327.4. A drop of THREE pounds! I was very happy about this. I still maintained a good diet yesterday and last night made a fairly low carb meal.. but this morning i woke up, weighed myself, and had gained 1.4 lbs I am thinking last night's dinner might have been excessively salty or something... then i remembered that when i was making the scallops i used butter (0 carbs), garlic (which i only discovered this morning has carbs... 1 per tbsp and i used like a cup LOL... but i also used wine... and i am sure wine is fairly carby so i may have tipped the scale there and threw my body off balance My wife, who's eatting the same things i am has gained two days in a row and we've no idea why aside from it may be approaching her time of the month so retaining water perhaps. anyway, still... under 330 is fine with me and ohh so close to my first goal of 50 lbs lost

What Kind Of Friend Am I?

I just thought since this blog is titled "A day in my shoes" i'd thought I'd share my shoe size...which is 11 wide! so my sister and her family left just now.its sad to say goodbye but i know i will see them in a couple months. my not so bigger than me big sister is all grown up and has a great little family.an awsome husband and two amazing kids. shes my big sister nine years older than me and an inch and a half shorter despite all our hardships she made it.so now its my turn.its my turn to go out and find someone to start a family with , im not saying it has to happen now but life as i know is just begining and im scared and excited and all that shit. i used to say i never wanted kids , i wanted to adopt because i had so many friends who were in group home nd it wasnt right i wanted to rescue them,i still feel that way but at the same time i wanna be a mom i mean i do it everyday at work i help kids grow , i help there parents learn how to teach there children, i kiss scraped knees, and sing silly little songs, and i make crying scared kids feel better and safe, i wipe away tears, and take the fea
