ive been so close ..the   soliders
that i could smell thier sweat ..
ive been to so close to the soliders that ive seen them bleed
ive been so close to the soliders that i was there to say ..hi how are doing it must be good to be back
 i saw them come home form the war ..
the infantry .. i saw the pain in thier eyes .. i saw them toasting to thier fallen brothers ,
this is one thing i will never forget..

we might celebrate the day ,
 but the day comes a cost .. it maybe a holiday
 but always for the ones that were lost ,the fathers ,
 the brothers, the sons ,

 i saw them come home form the war .. almost as soon as they touched down.. so many young boys who became men as the result of the war.. just like vietnam
the infantry .. i saw the pain in thier eyes .. i saw them toasting to thier fallen brothers ,
this is one thing i will never forget..

the children ,wives , the parents

the blood ,the sweat ,tears the tears of the ones who wait day by day

, night by night , hoping praying thier loved ones are alright ,

they dare not watch the news

 too ,worried of what they'll find , the ones that do almost lose thier mind ... they fear all day , ad fear all night

until they the call that everything is alright , these calls come few ..with days, weeks even months in between

..so theres only a slight relief .. until the next headline breaks , the next rumour starts ..
 and each one of us hoped it wasn't someone we knew ... , the fears all of those left to wait ..
and each time they go back , the cycle begins again ...

you fear the knock at the door .. the fear seeing the men in  thier Class A uniorms telling you your loved one has died ..

your heart races a million miles a minute  , your pulse quickens , and you can barely say a word.. as u wait  the fear grips you so strong .. you cry until no more tears come , and your eyes sting from being raw

its a not  a life for the weak at heart , its not life like any other .it leaves its scars and always will.

in such cases i truly with all sincerity whatever doesn't kill  you makes you stronger ..

i makes me sad to see and hear the people complain about the war .. when some have never even been so close .. never really cared at all ..but for those who truly care i have alot of respect for .. for those who truly care care i'll hold hands with , and join in in saying thankyou .
 for yourthe blood ,your sweat ,and  remember my tears .. as i cry for you .. as i cry for your families , as i cry for those of you still enduring ..
is it truly worth it?? , so i celebrate this day for what it is .. and im proud of veterans past, present ,and future...

 i truly hope you all find your place in the civilian world , and you learn to live with the aftermath for war . find whatever it is to beleive in , find whatever you need to hope in ..
