Drip Beer Beef
DRIP BEER BEEF 4-5 lb lean rolled rump roast 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic salt 3/4 tablespoon oregano 1/2 teaspoon rosemary 3/4 tablespoon savory salt 2 cubes beef bouillon pepper to taste water and beer to fill a large pan Cook in large pan on top of stove for 6 to 8 hours. I use a large pan and cover with water and 1 can of beer. About 2 hours before serving. Add second can of beer.The longer and slower cooked, the better. Also the less fat on the meat the better. Good served as sandwiches or on mini buns for parties.

Delicious Casserole
DELICIOUS CASSEROLE 1 lb ground beef 1 onion 1 (16 oz) can cream of chicken soup 1 cup milk 1 can green chilies 1 can enchilada sauce 1 cup cheddar cheese, sharp Brown meat and combine all ingredients. Line casserole dish with Mexican style corn chips and pour in mixture along with grated, sharp cheddar cheese on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, uncovered. Makes 4 servings

Crockpot Stew
CROCK POT STEW 1 1/2 lbs beef stew meat 2 large diced potatoes 4 sliced carrots 1 tablespoon minced onion dash of Worcestershire sauce 1 (46 oz) can tomato juice Place all ingredients in crock pot. Cover with juice. Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. Will be thick and rich.

Cheesy Meatloaf
CHEESY MEATLOAF 1 1/2 - 2 lbs hamburger meat 1 onion, diced 1 green pepper, diced 1 egg 1/2 package saltine crackers,crushed salt, pepper and garlic salt to taste 1 (4oz) can sliced mushrooms 2 tablespoons picante sauce 1 (8oz) can tomato sauce 1 small box velveta cheese, diced Combine all ingredients except tomato sauce in a large bowl. Mix together by hand. Place in loaf pan and cook at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Drain grease and pour tomato sauce over top. Cook for an additional 15 minutes.

Broccoli Hamburger Casserole
INGREDIENTS: 2 (16 ounce) packages frozen broccoli 2 pounds ground beef 1 (8 ounce) package fresh mushrooms 1 large onion, chopped salt to taste ground black pepper to taste 2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of celery soup 1 (16 ounce) container sour cream 1 (16 ounce) package shredded Monterrey Jack cheese -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Prepare the broccoli according to package directions. In a skillet over medium heat, mix the ground beef, mushrooms, and onion. Cook until beef is evenly brown; drain grease. Season with salt and pepper, and mix in cream of celery soup and sour cream. Continue cooking until heated through. Transfer to a medium baking dish, and evenly layer with broccoli. Top with cheese. Bake 1 hour in the preheated oven, until bubbly and lightly brown.

Beef Wellington 1 2 - 2 1/4 pound beef tenderloin 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 shortening 1 beaten egg yolk 3 tablespoons water 3 tablespoons cold water 1/2 cup deli or canned liver pate 1 beaten egg white Bordelaise sauce If roast is long and thin, fold narrow ends under and tie. If roast is flat and wide, tie crosswise in 2 or 3 places to form a rounder roast. (Finished shape should be about 7 x 3 1/2 inches.) Place meat on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Roast in a 425 degree oven for 30 minutes. for a 2 pound roast(35 minutes for a 2 1/4 pound roast). Remove from pan. (remove strings if tied.) Refrigerate for about 10 minutes to cool surface. Beef Stroganoff 1 pound beef tenderloin steak or sirloin steak 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 8-ounce carton dairy sour cream 2 teaspoons instant beef bouillon granules 2 tablespoons margarine or butter 1 1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 clove garlic, minced 2 cups hot cooked noodles Partially freeze beef. Thinly slice across the grain into bite-size, strips. Combine flour and sour cream. Stir in bouillon granules, 1/2 cup water, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Set aside. In a large skillet cook and stir half the meat in margarine or butter over high heat till done. Remove. Add remaining meat, mushrooms, onion, and garlic. Cook and stir till meat is done and the vegetables are tender. Return all meat to skillet. Add sour cream mixture. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 1 minute more. INGREDIENTS: 1 pound ground beef 1 1/2 cups chunky salsa 1 (10 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained 3/4 cup creamy salad dressing (e.g. Miracle Whip) 1 teaspoon chili powder 2 cups crushed tortilla chips 2 cups Colby cheese -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DIRECTIONS: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring to crumble, until evenly browned. Drain grease. Remove from the heat, and stir the salsa, corn, mayonnaise and chili powder into the beef. In a 2 quart casserole dish, layer the ground beef mixture, tortilla chips and cheese twice, ending with cheese on top. Bake for 20 minutes uncovered in the preheated oven, until cheese is melted and dish is thoroughly heated.

Beef and Spinach Pinwheels 8 slices bacon 1 1-1 1/2 pound beef flank steak or beef top round steak 1 10-oz package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese In a large skillet cook bacon till just done but not crisp. Drain on paper towels. Score steak by making shallow cuts at 1- inch intervals diagonally across steak in a diamond pattern. Repeat on the second side. With meat mallet, pound steak into 12 x 8 inch rectangle, working from center to edges. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Arrange bacon lengthwise on the steak. Spread spinach over bacon. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Roll up from the short side. Secure with wooden picks at 1 inch intervals, starting 1/2 inch from one end. Cut between picks into 8 1- inch thick slices. YEAST ROLLS 1/2 cups sugar 2 cups milk 1 teaspoon salt 4 tablespoons shortening 2 packages yeast 6 cups flour Scald sugar, milk, salt and shortening together and then let cool. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm (110 degrees) water. Mix yeast mixture with milk mixture. Gradually add approximately 6 cups flour. Batter should be slightly sticky. Cover and let rise to double in size. Knead 5 minutes. Roll out and cut into rolls or pinch balls to make cloverleaf rolls. Let rise again until double. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.

CRESCENT HONEY STICKY BUNS 5 tablespoons butter 2/3 cup powdered sugar 1/2 cup chopped nuts 3 tablespoons honey 1-2 teaspoons vanilla 2 (8 oz) can crescent rolls Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Melt butter, remove from heat, stir in sugar, nuts, honey and vanilla. Spoon scant tablespoon in each of 16 deep muffin cups. Do not unroll crescents. BOSTON BROWN BREAD 1 c. whole wheat flour 1 c. med. rye flour 1 c. yellow cornmeal 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 c. raisins (opt.) 2 c. buttermilk, room temp. 3/4 c. molasses Generously grease 2 (1 pound) coffee cans or 3 (1 lb.) vegetable or fruit cans; set aside. In a large bowl, combine whole wheat flour, rye flour, cornmeal, baking soda and salt. Add raisins, if desired. Toss to separate and coat with flour mixture. In a medium bowl, combine buttermilk and molasses. Stir into flour mixture only until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn into prepared cans, filling evenly. Cover cans tightly with 2 layers of foil; tie with string. Place a rack in a large kettle. Place cans on rack. Place kettle over low heat. Add boiling water until halfway up cans. Cover; bring water to a gentle boil. Steam bread 2 1/2 to 3 hours or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Add more boiling water during steaming, if necessary. Carefully remove bread from cans. C

Banana Bread 2 cups sugar 1/2 cup butter 2 eggs 2 cups flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup pecans, chopped 3 bananas, smashed 6 tablespoons buttermilk Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Mix in flour and salt. In a seperate bowl, combine baking soda and buttermilk. Then slowly add to mixture, stirring between additions. Add bananas, nuts and vanilla. Grease and flour 2 coffee cans or loaf pans. Fill pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Let cool.

Angel Biscuits
ANGEL BISCUITS 5 cups flour 1/4 cup sugar 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup shortening 1 1/2 packages dry yeast 4 tablespoons warm water 2 cups buttermilk Stir dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening until it looks like coarse meal. Dissolve yeast in warm water; add to dry ingredients and shortening. Gradually pour in buttermilk and work into a nice dough. Roll out on floured board to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with biscuit cutter and sip in melted butter. Stack in 2's or fold in half. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes (or until golden brown). Unbaked biscuits keep well in the refrigerator or may be frozen.

CHRISTMAS PUNCH 1-cup sugar 1-cup water 1 cinnamon stick 1-teaspoon whole cloves Dash salt 1-quart cranapple juice 2 cups burgundy wine Place sugar in small saucepan and add water gradually. Stirring to blend. Add the rest of the spices and salt. Bring to boil, and then simmer 20 minutes. Remove spices and chill. For spice bag, place cinnamon, allspice, the 1 teaspoon cloves, and the orange peel in the center of a double-thick, 6-inch square of 100 percent-cotton cheesecloth. Tie closed with clean string. Add spice bag to the saucepan with cider mixture. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, if desired, stud orange wedges with cloves. Remove spice bag and discard. Senator Barack Obama's campaign has written a letter to Attorney General Michael Mukasey asking for an investigation into improper leaks from DOJ officials involving their ACORN investigation and whether or not people within the DOJ, perhaps with the help of the White House, are working in concert with the McCain campaign to further the ACORN myth for his political advantage. Keith Olbermann talked with an Obama campaign attorney about this brilliant strategy by the campaign -- they are linking the ACORN/DOJ scandal with the U.S. Attorney firing scandal. Drinkin & Drivin
Today would have been my little brothers 49th birthday. At the age of 21 he chose to drink and get behind the wheel of his truck... He never made it home. He not only died as a result of his decision but the two people who were in the vehicle he had a head on crash with were in critical condition for several weeks. Thankfully they eventually recovered. Am I A Bad Mother?
Am I a bad mom if I have to let my ex husband have temporary custody because right now I'm struggling so much finacially I can't support my child? I just don't know what to do. My ex's behavior is becoming more irrational.. more unpredictable lately. Relationships are tricky. When your going after a girl you give it your all. If its because you need the companionship or you really mean it. i drew a Hunt Unit reservation on the island. a very dubious honor. i hate hunting "the island", but it is close and a reservation for this particular unit promises an easy hunt with a good possibility for success. i hit "the line" at just after midnight and sleep in the back of my Tahoe. the only thing i have to say about that is, "i am too old for this shit." not much to say. it was a pretty standard WMA hunt. got out blind and did fairly well. the blinds around us were occupied with the usual island idiots that wouldn't let birds work in close and lost a lot of cripples due to their skybusting (shooting at birds out of range) habits. my hunting bud and i finished up with 9 birds between the 2 of us and had a good time. i hope i don't have to hunt the island again any time soon. lol

Summer Lake - 10/11/08

Well a couple of weeks ago my cd-rom just disappeared off my laptop, so today thanks to a very dear friends we took it into the shop so they can try and fix it. It could be that my cd-rom is bad or that there is something wrong with my motherboard, i might have it back next friday they are suppost to call me Monday or Tuesday to let me know what's wrong with it. I helped catch these .... 2 arrested for taking items from 3 stores An Oil City woman and a female juvenile have been arrested for taking merchandise from two stores at the Cranberry Mall and from the Cranberry Walmart. Franklin state police said Rindy L. Withers, 32, and the juvenile took items valued at a combined $539 from Walmart and from Claire’s Boutique and the Hallmark store at the mall. The two are facing a misdemeanor charge for the Hallmark theft, which resulted in about $390 worth of items taken, police said. The other two thefts are considered summary offenses, according to police.

I received a phone call this evening from an art gallery in Columbus. This was a short phone interview, they will be calling me next week to set up an interview at the gallery next month! Why Won't They Listen To Me
We go through this every time. My bosses tell me to do something. I tell them why that's not the the best thing to do and give my arguments on what we should do. At some point they just stop listening to me and the meeting ends with them telling me I have to do what they say. Then I do it. Everything goes to utter chaos and we have to do what I suggested in the first place. Okay so yesterday I learned the *hard* way not to let anyone thats not a doctor or chiro touch my back. A guy purchased his lovely wife a pocket taser for their anniversary, submitted this: Last weekend, I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interesr. The occasion was our 15th wedding anniversary and I was looking for a little something extra for my wife, Julie. What I came across was a 100,000-volt, pocket/purse-sized Taser. The effects of the Taser were supposed to be short-lived, with no long-term adverse effects on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat to safety...WAY TOO COOL!! Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home. I loaded two AAA batteries in the darn thing and pushed the button. Nothing! I was disappointed. I learned, however, that if I pushed the button AND pressed it against a metal surface at the same time, I'd get the blue arc of electricity darting back and forth between the prongs. AWESOME!
