From astray, I gaze.
Feeling utterly helpless;
Useless.
Seeing that you hurt.

I can't save you from the world,
No matter how much I wish I could.
I see.
I feel.
I hope.
I fume with denial.

Every breath of air,
is another taste of it.
Another moment of the hope
that I can make all the bad disappear.

Demons lurk around every corner,
just yearning for a taste.
Eager to play, and cause you to break.
and I know they'll laugh with accomplishment,
when your life is shattered
and you're laying on the floor.

Every taste they get, they saver and just crave more.
They find amusement in pain.
Why? We'll never know.
Because when you get too close...

They slit your throat.

And they merely giggle
as you gasp,
reaching for life,
that's slipping away...
Further and further every second.

The darkness closing in
happens to be your last sight.

And then you wake up from your 'nightmare'
only to realize it wasn't a dream.

It's your reality.
