Early voting begins is under way
Early voting for the May 29 Republican and Democratic primary elections begins Monday and continues through May 25.
The polls are open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays; 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday; and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. cheap michael kors watches
According to Harris County Clerk Stan Stanart, the Republican ballot includes 201 candidates vying for 99 offices at various levels of government; the Democratic Party has 149 candidates vying for 94 positions.
Voters will choose nominees for Congress, the Texas Legislature, the Texas Railroad Commission, state and local judicial seats, district attorney, constable positions and sheriff, among others.
Any qualified voter can cast a ballot in a primary election, although the voter must choose between the Republican Primary and the Democratic Primary. michael kors outlet bags

There are 37 early voting locations across Harris County. Qualified voters can cast their ballots at the location of their choice. Harris County voters can find polling locations at www.harrisvotes.org or by calling the County Clerk's Office at 713-755-6965. Voters also can go to the secretary of state's web site, www.votetexas.gov., for polling locations.
The Texas Legislature passed a voter ID law last year, requiring registered voters to present photo identification before casting a ballot. The U.S. Department of Justice has refused to approve it and the law remains tied up in court, meaning the law may not be enforced.
That means a voter needs only a Texas Voter Registration Card. In lieu of a voter registration card, a voter can present a driver's license, a passport or a similar official document.
