I have learned ALOT of new things over the past year, but the most important one, was what it is like to be the loved one of a soilder. The days that go by without a phone call, not knowing if he and his unit are ok. He has taught me so much and I love him so much. I can not wait until he is home with me forever. I used to have respect for our troops, but now thanks to the love of my life, I have an even bigger respect for our troops.
There's an American Girl
Doing the best that she can
Taking her Rank Along side her man
She wears no dog tag Don't carry a military ID
She gets no recognition upon the T.V
She carries A badge that no other possess
its the badge of courage for the man she loves best
There is no pay rate for the job that she does,
She stands beside her Soldier the one that she loves.
She don't get to see him a full 365 days
But maybe half of that is spent with him away
Somewhere in a 3rd world Country
Fighting for our Rights,
While someone sits with a Silent rank
Who Cannot sleep at night.
We are not Mothers, Sisters or Wives
But Simply Army Girlfriends
Who love our soldiers with all our lives
