DUNCAN, B.C. -- Torontos Rebecca Lee-Bentham beat American Lee Lopez on the first playoff hole on Friday to win the 98th playing of the Royale Cup Canadian womens amateur championship. The playoff came down to putting as both players hit the green in regulation. Lopezs three-putt proved to be costly as Lee-Bentham two-putted for par and the victory. "It feels awesome. Of course I was nervous. I tried to prepare myself as well as I could; went to the range, hit some balls, hits some putts and tried to calm myself down," said Lee-Bentham. "I walked up to my ball and had a nice lie and just tried to hit the best shot I could." The 19-year-old started the final round three shots back of the leaders but erased the deficit with an even-par 72 to pull into the lead and end regulation play in a tie with Lee Lopez of Whetier, Calif., at 6-over par 294. With her victory Lee-Bentham earns an exemption into the U.S womens amateur at Rhode Island Golf Club in Barrington, R.I., as well as the 2011 CN Canadian Womens Open at Hillsdale Golf and Country Club in Mirabel, Que. "I am very excited. I have been working hard all year," said Lee-Bentham. "Its just great to have a break like this and win the Canadian Amateur and then to get an exemption into the (CN Canadian Womens) Open and the (U.S) Am is such a bonus." Third place featured a three-way tie between Americans Erynne Lee and Alex Stewart as well as former Team Canada member Jennifer Kirby of Paris, Ont. Over the first six games, the Seahawks were No. 2 in the NFL in yards rushing allowed per carry at 3.3 yards. That ability to stop the run put more pressure on the opponents passing game to find openings against Seattles secondary. But during the past eight games, the Seahawks have struggled. Theyre giving up 5.3 yards per carry, which ranks last in the NFL. Part of the problem is the big runs Seattles defence has allowed to running backs such as Adrian Peterson, Frank Gore and Reggie Bush. Seattle held Matt Forte to 66 yards and the Cardinals to just 43 yards rushing as a team. Those two efforts gave Bradley optimism that the run defence was heading in the right direction. "I thought the Arizona game we played better and the Chicago game for the most part weve played pretty well," Bradley said. "There are some good backs that we have faced ...
