On the way home after a long day of work, I received a phone call from my sons teacher. She began the conversation with "Hi, this is Mrs. Baldwin, how are you?" She went on to say " I wanted to call and congratulate you on your wonderful son. Today we got the results for the FCATS, and you will be pleased to know that he did exceptionally well...."
Curtis scored a high 4 on his reading, and a 5 on his math, in which he aced one particular section. The highest score possible for both is 5. Here's a link for those interested in learning more: http://fcat.fldoe.org/
And, that's not all ... Following the FCAT test, they also took a test called the Norm Referenced Test. She went on to say that nationally Curtis scored in the 98th percentile on this. He was the highest scoring student in his class on both tests this year.
Wrapping up the conversation, she told me that if she had Curtis for a grandson, she would be so very proud, as she is sure I am, and that she would never stop bragging on him. He is very well rounded, intelligent, and she loves having him in her class.
I still have a perma grin on my face, and yes, I am bragging...wouldn't you? I was asked by my mom where my son gets it from My father replied "From grandpa, of course." Wherever his amazing gift comes from, I hope he always has it, he makes me SO proud.
Next week, Curtis will find out what it's like to be an ADULT. His class will be taking a field trip to the following : http://www.jaenterprisevillage.org/ . I'm anxious, as I will be going along!
Work has slowed down a bit, and is not as exciting as it use to be. It still is my favorite job by far, and the days sometimes still go by quickly.
