in time things change,
even if the light seems miles away
please never wipe that smile off your face
i seen the bottom, felt the cost of pain
some say its just the cost of fame
i know at times i felt i lost my way
but my friends always been there to weather the storm,
shit, i guess that what friends for
i see the future lookin bright but i won't fast forward
cuz when i get, it means that much more
i know you feel me and i been spillin my heart for years
showin ya'll the real me and this is all sincere
i know folks that are livin just like,
and plenty others that flat out despise me
but every mornin when i rise and shine,
i shake them haters right off my mind
knowin i'll be fine and understand things clear
plus now i'm cool with the man in the mirror



they saying that my subject matter is all similar
sorry for so long,i remained, sinister
couldn't harness the hate or put faith in the minister
when things dont change pain remains in your literature
thats just all i'm sayin
and if you ask how i'm doin i'll say the same ol same
i like think things will get better and be ok
but where i'm from to make it, better relocate
they layin off peoples families put em out they crib
they closin down the schools now so what about them kids
now what about my rent, who puttin food in the fridge?
if all you wanna do is dance, please remove this dick
