I saw "The Hangover" this past weekend. I thought it was a great movie with lots of surprises and belly laughs. My friend also liked it a lot, we usually go to chick flicks together.
IMHO, it raised the genre of stupid, entertaining movies to new heights. It will be difficult to meet these standards for stupid, entertaining movies in the future. It has slapstick, sight gags, cerebral humor, toilet humor, tantalizingly goofy plot, interesting characters, great dialogue, and was executed - filmed - produced - edited to a polished glow. Or was that Polish? Never mind.
Seriously, a chicken in the living room, Bengal tiger in the bathroom, a baby in the closet, naked oriental dude springing from the trunk, taser demonstrations on live subjects, missing tooth, and drug-induced amnesia? As far as I am concerned it just don't get much better than this!
