Jack Herer has for years now been touting this $100,000 challenge from the back of his famous book, "The Emperor Wears No Clothes", yet no one has apparently risen to the task? Or have they tried and they just simply failed?? If they failed, then why aren't we using hemp to it's fullest potential?? Instead we have banned this completely amazing resource that could potentially become America's new multi-billion dollar crop, giving our economy a much needed boost!

THE CHALLENGE: PROVE THEM WRONG!

If all fossil fuels and their derivatives, as well as trees for paper and construction, were banned in order to save the planet, reverse the Greenhouse Effect and stop deforestation; then there is only one known annually renewable natural resource that is capable of providing the overall majority of the world's paper and textiles; meet all of the world's transportation, industrial and home energy needs, while simultaneously reducing pollution, rebuilding the soil and cleaning the atmosphere all at the same time... and that substance is the same one that has done it before . . . CANNABIS HEMP!

[ read the rest of the facts listed in the challenge statement or feel free to wander around his site, there's lots of good information there! ]

##### The Number One Roadblock - The DEA's Controlled Substances Act #####

We need our leaders to force the DEA to comply with law stating that any substance should be rescheduled immediately upon change of status of said substance. Cannabis should have been rescheduled from a Schedule 1 to a Schedule 2 substance back in 1996 when California passed it's first medicinal marijuana law. Now more than 12 years later there are 13 states with such laws, yet the DEA continues to refuse the rescheduling of cannabis to reflect the reality of accepted medicinal value. In such refusal they are actually breaking the law!

Schedule 1 is reserved for dangerous substances with no accepted medical use. This gives any such substances top priority in law enforcement. This catagory includes, heroine, LSD, peyote, magic mushrooms, GHB, and THC (cannabis), - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Schedule_I_drugs

Schedule 2 is for substances that may be dangerous yet have accepted medicinal uses. This category includes cocaine, methamphetamine, opium, and morphine. - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Schedule_II_drugs

Interestingly enough, all prescription drugs, alcohol and tobacco are not included in any of the schedules...

Do you think cannabis is more dangerous than cocaine, crystal meth and morphine???

I would actually argue that cannabis should be no more than Schedule 3 or 4 to accurately reflect reality.
