Romans 4:5
However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.
Justification is God’s act whereby He declares those who have trusted in Christ to be as righteous as His Son is righteous.
Salvation is not based on our works.
Do you know what God sees when He looks at me today?
He sees Jesus Christ. Perry that’s arrogant. No, it’s not. It’s the Bible.
I am in Christ and therefore God doesn't look at my sins.
Friends, think of what you were when you were called.
Not many of you were wise by human standards;
not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.
But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise;
God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things
and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are,
so that no one may boast before him.
It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus,
who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.
Therefore, as it is written: "Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord."
He only sees the righteousness of His Son.
Justification is more than just a pardon, it is a promotion.
God doesn’t just forgive our sins, He makes us righteous.
Only God can take someone who is guilty and give that person righteousness.
It is the saving work of God.
What is the basis of our justification?
His grace.
Next time you pass a mirror and someone is with you, start an evangelistic conversation by saying,
“God taught me something the other day about my reflection.
Whenever we look in a mirror we only see ourselves.
But, when God looks at me, He sees His Son.”
See how they respond.
