Queen of Wonderland's blog: "soulful life"

created on 10/01/2006  |  http://fubar.com/soulful-life/b9153  |  1 followers
I go to a school which recently allowed that the pledge of allegience be spoken every morning. However we have the choice if we would like to stand up, place our hand over our heart and say "under GOD". It so happens that I do stand up but choose not to place my hand over my heart or say under God. Today would have been fine if our substitute had not called me and a few others out. She called out three other ladies and two gentleman out for not standing up or showing any respect to the almighty god or our country. Then she called me out for not placing my hand over my heart or saying under god. I simply explained to her that I am a follower of pagenism, which worships Mother Earth and quoted "when your bible is tossed into the outside world, the rain washes your words away and the wind scatters your blank pages awry; but my bible is the wind and rain" This highly upset her. Enough to pull out a small bible and read quotes to me, some I was familiar with [from being drug to chruch every sunday until I finally had enough of the lies and now only go with friends who respect my religion but ask that I still be a part of their life]. She read to me Matthew 18:20 which I am familiar with and as she read Matthew 18: 20 I had already quoted “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” After quoting the exact line she was about to read I recieved a stern once over and a shake of disapproval along with the words "such a disgrace of a fine christian" After my little pep talk I went back to my art piece [ I have art first period ] and begin to add oil pastel into the college of christians murdering innocenct lives, rape, and war. Amazingly she went on to tell the others the same little speech I had recieved but for any back lash against me, no harsh words were spoken to her. Hardly anything was spoken between the two of us, I mainly listened and she spoke. This question comes to mind: if everything has a beginning then where did god come from? I asked her to ponder that and my answer was god has always been. I left a note at the end of the day which simply read: Everything has a structure, a beginning, understand that all religions are borrowed from all cultural contact. Each religion shares a simple idea, a worship of a power or higher being. No person can define a set guideline for any religion for all religion branches with its own tweaked life laws for its congregation. Remember Ben Franklin said the only things in life which are certain is death and taxes.
