nymph of the woods...


i am a nymph of the woods..

  not that i can't sparkle in the city with

  the glittering lights..

  or that i don't catch my breath and hold

  it by the majestic world on top of the frosty mountain.

  i can be lulled hypnotic, listening to the roaring songs

  of the waves and enjoy the warm, golden sand bubbling

  between my toes..

  i can lay flat on my back for an entire afternoon and be

  constantly amazed by the various hues of blue in the sky

  and the life of the moving clouds..

 

but my spirit belongs to the woods..

  part of the cool, moist earth and the

  soft whispers of the living trees and trickle

  of clear brooks..

  precious sunbeams, gloriously individual,

  bearing through the greenery above..

  at home with the songs of the birds and small

  creatures - alive in their own universe.

  the sweet scents of the soil and vegetation and

  wild flowers seduce me..

  i love the woods for they are full of life and the

  devine circle.

maybe i once roamed there..

      maybe i will again...
