This song has some very special meaning to me as I remember that when this song first aired back in 1997 I was living in New Hampshire and at the time this song had hit the airwaves we had just experienced a wave of tragedies when two New Hampshire State Police troopers and a judge were murdered by a lone gunman who later was killed by police in Vermont after a shootout and the following week another police officer was killed in the town of Epsom NH by someone who had just gotten out of prison on parole. The irony with that one was that the young officer in question had just come back from the funeral for the two troopers.
Anyhow I figured that now was about as good a time as any to start another blog. I think this one will be geared towards a little bit about my life and where I have been and where I am now heading.
Well it goes like this, the last few years have been a bit of a rollercoaster for me to say the least. But to put it all in a nutshell, I finally got divorced back in July after a 3 plus years separation from my now ex-wife. Initially the separation was incredibly painful on many levels which a select few people are aware of and I will leave it at that. Recently a lady that I had been corresponding with off and on over the past 18 months finally managed to extricate herself from a very abusive relationship that she had been in for a long time. This lady and I had become friends a while back even before she had first made mention of the abuse she had been going through. Anyhow I had reached out to her when she had a problem on another matter and offered any assistance that I could lend to help her out.
Later on she mentioned how she was being abused and once again I reached out to her as a friend. As time would permit she and I would talk and I would look up resources for her that she could use to get any help that she may be in need of.
To make a long story short, she finally got out of her situation and we were able to talk much more freely. Unbeknownst to either one of us we became very attracted to each other and we have talked almost non-stop since then.
This coming Friday I am taking a HUGE leap of faith and traveling out to see her and then I shall see where the road is going to lead the two of us.
I will be the first to agree that it is highly unusual on many levels, but this lady has been the answer to my prayers as much as I have been the answer to her prayers as well (and those are her words).
More to come on all of this.
Warmest Regards
Neal
