you ever look back at the things & people that have happend in your life and wonder why they meant so much to you at that point in time?? Or why they aren't around anymore?
I think about the girl that used to be my longest staanding friend in my life. I met her when I was like 7 or so, we were in brownies together. He dad was an officer and my stepdad was enlisted. it was highly frowned upon that we even as little kids were friends, for to the air force way of thinking... how could we be friends and not our parents. and for those of you that don't know officers and enlisted are not supposed to hang out.
My mom and stepdad got devorced and a few years later, her mom and dad did too. we went to the same church for a few years in high school, took youth group trips together to mexico and LA. We joined the navy... and that was where the story got fuzzy...
We really tried to keep in touch, and sometimes we managed to. She got out, then I got out, but I think it's been about ohhh... close to five years since I've heard from her. I remember sending her a BDay card, and not hearing back from her... and then, things just... went away.
I found myself wondering where she was and what she was doing today. i miss her so much sometimes. I'm not sure if it's because I miss having that person to talk to that knew me for so long, that we could remember being small children together, or if it's that I just miss being a kid.
It all started when I tucked my daughter into bed tonight... she looks so much like me that the memories just came flooding back...
