The town I grew up in, and SEVERAL surrounding areas have really stepped upin the time of need
They raised a SHIT TON of money in just one day for the fallen officer's family.
The Pittsburgh area always bonds in time of need, but this means more to me as I knew the people involved.
Three of the first responders are good close friends of mine... Last night we went out so they could decompress...I got the whole wtory from them, it was MUCH worse than the papers led us to believe, but I am happy to have my boys...I am sad beyond expressable words about Derek, but I can say he was truly an honorable man
The alumni from our high schoool are having a fund raiser, and there are several others.
The outpouring of love and respect shown all over my hometown for the loss of one of our own is touching, I am blessed to still live within 10 miles of my childhood home. I love being this close to my roots.

Today and tomorrow are the viewings, I just don't know if I can handle all 4 plus the funeral is monday... we shall see
