A Fort Campbell soldier was shot in the right shoulder by a shotgun Friday night, and police are investigating whether it was an accident.
Police said the man, who was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, was in stable condition.
The shooting happened at a residence in the Apache Village Apartments complex, in the 1400 block of Fort Campbell Boulevard, at about 9 p.m. The soldier's name has not been released, but a witness said he was a member of the 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment.
