The White House has declared April to be financial literacy month and touted its own work towards improving the nation's financial system. (WTF)
In a presidential proclamation released Thursday, President Obama called upon Americans to boost their understanding of their personal finances in April.
As America digs out from underneath the financial crisis of 2008, he stressed in the announcement that the need for a strong understanding of finance is more important than ever, as the nation works to get back on a sound fiscal foundation.
"The financial crisis was fueled by a lack of responsibility from Wall Street to Washington. It devastated ordinary Americans, many of whom were caught by hidden fees and penalties or saddled with loans they could not afford," the proclamation stated. "Preventing a recurrence will require both better behavior and oversight on Wall Street and more informed decision making on Main Street and in homes across our country."
(WTF…where is our governments financial literacy when we have a deficit of 17 TRILLION dollars??? … WTF)
