Annelid's blog: "Ramblings,thoughts and assorted stuff"

Lately I've been into circuit bending. Now you may ask yourself (or not) what is circuit bending? There's nothing that warms the cockels of my heart more than hearing the garbled moo's of a cow or the distorted ramblings of woman explaining that this is a "cat" when I circuit bend. Let me backtrack a bit. About a week ago, the Queen and I decided to go on a lil road trip to Pennsylvania , which is about a hour or so from where I live. I pull the car off into East Stroudsburg and there it is...the Salvation Army Store. The proverbial holy land of misfit toys (everything from stratomatic baseball to borked tickle me elmo's), bizarro records ( think William Shatner singing - Lucy in the sky with diamonds), crochet tissue box covers and so on. So I walk around,scanning, perusing, analyzing and then I come to the toy section. Oh yes, the toys. I see toby the talk bot (from fisher price) in all his bot like glory sitting there, looking forlorn. It's my duty to rescue him from the fate of "sitting on shelf - itis". I look for the holy grail of toys , either a speak n spell (or it's derivatives) or a furby but my hopes n dreams are dashed...until.... Until my eyes catch a toy that has pictures of cow's/ducks/a police car and a firetruck on it. I don't see what the correlation is between the above but I guess you need to have a policeman arrest the pyromaniac bovines and then call in the firemen. The ducks, I suppose just sit around and watch the show. So getting back to the toy (with the duck/policeman)...your press a button and it says " this a is a duck...a duck goes quack quack" and then some cutesy kids melody plays. Perfect. Awesome. and $1.50. So after getting some foodstuffs with my girl and some cigs we decide to drive back to Neuva Jersey (that's Scandinavian for New Jersey btw, I pride myself on my linguistic skills). I proceed to take apart the "duck toy" and find some neat bends. I added a body contact to it so when you press a button and it starts to say "this is a ......" it will sputter,stutter and pretty much spaz out. So today we're off to another thrift store in town and then to a huge / ginormous salvation army near Jersey City. Wish me luck in my toy searching. Good luck , g0d bless and nanu nanu.
