I wrote this when I was going through abuse. Reflecting on my choices and their outcomes...I'm happy with the path I chose to take. Trusting my heart meant that I would be hurt but the knowledge of what was happening and the reoccurrence of events was enough to help me to stand not only for myself but for my daughter as well. For me this portrayed the constant struggle that bound my thoughts.
