Fear Not My Little Ones
By J S Monti
Fear not my little ones.
Go softly on your way.
Take time to grow and prosper,
In health and wealth and mind.
The tears you shed in childhood,
Will seem petty later on.
The spats and sibling rivalry,
Are but moments too soon gone.
For life can sometimes be that way,
Not always steady footing.
Never let it ruin your day,
Be gentle, kind and soothing.
Don’t let mistakes made yesterday,
Weigh heavy on your minds.
Take heed in what they teach you,
And happiness you’ll find.
Mistakes are made by everyone.
The rich, the poor, the chosen.
Don’t let them put a scar on you,
Have a warm heart, not one frozen.
Don’t let emotions cloud your way,
Make your judgments based on facts.
Let God and Truth be guides for you,
Think before you act.
And you will always have me close,
My wisdom to impart.
I may not have all the answers,
But will listen to your heart.
I can throw my arms around you,
And speak soothing words into your ears.
Hoping that the love I give,
Will calm most all your fears.
And like have many parents done,
Throughout the dawn of time.
Love you and protect you,
For you are a child of mine.
And even if I don’t agree,
With actions that you take.
Know that I will stand by you,
Never to forsake.
