So, someone very near and dear to me is currently in the ER...still. He went to the county hospital here since he doesn't have insurance which means you will sit and wait to be seen. Well he's been there for 11 hours thus far and hasn't seen a doctor yet. Supposedly he's on the "Red Team" which means he should have been seen within 2-4 hours. Gee, think someone fucked up?

*takes a deep breath*

Without going into a lot of personal details, his sugar level when finger pricked was over 400. For those that don't understand what that number means, let me just say this. Normal sugar levels for someone who is Diabetic should be within 80-120. Thereby, you can now understand the reason for concern.

It dropped to the mid 200s this afternoon and then spiked up to mid 300s. Now you can only image with your body going through all of that plus sitting there for 11 hours, you're not going to be the happiest of campers, but supposedly, he was next to be seen. We'll see.

Now for the freaked out part...

I'm obviously upset that this person is in the hospital. Given the fact my dad was Diabetic, it brings up a lot of emotions. I'm trying to keep a positive frame of mind, but in short, I suck at it. Sometimes you would just like a sign that things will be okay. Now, me being me, the big man upstairs could pop a neon sign in the sky addressed to me and I would think that it was someone else. LOL Yeah, I know...issues.

So, I'm taking out the garbage about 15 minutes ago and as I was walking across the parking lot, I looked up at the stars. It's a clear night and I was trying to see if I could spot Orion. (It's the only one I know LOL) I was thinking about my friend, hoping that he was okay and was going to be seen by a doctor soon when all the sudden there's a shooting star! I've never seen one before. I was really kinda cool. Maybe I'm reading more into it, could have been a fluke, but I'm thinkin...maybe this is a sign. And then my stupid mind pops in...yes but is it a good one or a bad one?

Now before you roll your eyeballs at me, hear me out on this. I realize this is different, but the thought came to mind and I can't shake it. Years ago, my great grandmother was in the hospital. My dad was going to go visit here, but he just kept getting more and more delayed as the day wore on. As he was going to get ready to leave, he freaking out because he saw this ball of light streak past him. He was the only one that saw it, but afterwards we got the call that my great grandmother had passed on.

Yes, totally different I know, but it's just freaking me out in similarities. Soooooo....anyone wanna share any thoughts on the subject?
