My name is Sherry Crawford from Ripley, Mississippi age 39 mother of two sons and married for 10 years. On May 15, 2003 my life changed when I was dignosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer with a tumor size 3.5cm and 4 out 15 lymph nodes were postive at the age of 36 I didn't think this could happen to me but it did. Before I found out I didn't know there was anything wrong with my left breast until it started looking abnormal I keeping thinking maybe it is nothing wrong my friend kept telling me to go see the doctor so I did it was the right choice. After having my mastectomy(where I had only my left breast removed) I had 8 rounds of chemo and 30 radiation treatments the type of cancer the doctor said The Type 3 Breast Cancer I have that sometimes in most case within two years that my cancer will come back somewhere else I am going on my 3rd year of being cancer free. I am going to keep on fighting the deadly diease I am not going to let it get me down. Keeping the Faith has keep me together! My Breast Cancer is in my genes with a Family History of it but the doctors never told me I need to have a routine mammogram but if I had know things could have been different. If anyone has a family history of Breast Cancer it doesn't matter how old you are please make sure to have a mammogram it will save your life.
