As you may or may not know (or care) I've been going out lately to become "more social". The occasional bar / lounge foray, a bite out at a diner and the occasional movie. I've noticed that people seem to lack any social decorum at all.
For example at this one lounge I attend the bar is in a circular shape so we all crowd around it like little piglets sucking on Momma pig's teet (mmmm teets). Anyways it's like roller derby.
Elbows flying, a slight shove here and there and the spilled drink (falls to knees in Capt Kirk fashion,throws hands up in the air and yell's " drinnnkkkkkkkssssss").
So I ended up getting pushed off the bar stool, my drink knocked over and smoke swiped my zippo lighter.
As much as I wanted to say something like "Wait your turn pal" or "So now drinking is a full contact sport" Or even "Nice shoes buddy,can you help me up off the floor"?, I said nothing.
So should I have confronted the person (or people in question , again using my semi rapier wit -which would probably end up having a shot glass embedded in my head or say nothing ,smile and move along? |
