Have a local guy that custom-makes jewelry. He offered to do my engagement ring for me. I have the diamond, and he's got some ideas as to a setting. My question is - I have some old jewelery, like broken necklaces, old rings, etc. Can the gold be melted down to make the new ring as long as it's all 14K???? Or will the different pieces/ages of the pieces/quality of the pieces make a difference in the final product?
P.S. - I f'd up the first time and forgot to uncheck the "friends only" box! Sorry if you're reading this twice - and if you are, you are one lucky S.O.B. to be on my friends list! lol
