My ex-husband is a sheriff's deputy. He called and started some crap because my new boyfriend (been dating since February) was home with the kids while I was at work (they adore him). So he ran a criminal background check on the boyfriend. We were told that it is illegal to run a criminal background check on someone without probable cause. My boyfriend wants to press charge on the ex, and I want to avoid conflict (mainly for my children's sake). Yes, my ex is a total ass, and is constantly harassing me, but again - I just want to drop it and get on with our lives.
