In the process of buying a new home (which isn't fun). Found one that we absolutely love - it's an older home that has been completely remodeled - huge master bedroom/bathroom, updated kitchen and appliances, etc. We were ready to go until we went back and took a second look - has original hardwood flooring - and in the corners of the front 2 rooms - seems to have had some water damage. Boards look rotted and seem to sink when you step on them. Also - there is obvious mold around the hot water heater, and the walls (which have been freshly painted) have spots all over them - everywhere - inside the closets/cabinets as well - which my brother said looks like a sign of mold as well.
We really love the house - but think it would be rather expensive to fix all that needs to be repaired. Plus, someone said that once the home has mold - it's almost impossible to get rid of. Should we continue to look for houses, or is it possible that the seller would be willing to fix before closing? Never bought a home, and need some advice. Again - really love the house!!!! |
