I was watching CNN last night (not by choice) and saw a clip where Al Gore was defending his position on Global Warming. He has his opinion and I can accept that although I am not too keen on his acceptance of the "carbon neutral lifestyle" (pay your way out of guilt, why don't ya???)
Anyway - in the clip, he compared global warming to a child who has a fever...if a child has a fever - you do something about it. He further says the earth has a fever.
Ok - I agree...however - how high is the fever and what should be done? Do you need to take them to the doctor? Give them some tylenol? put them into a bath of ice water? How serious is it? What is the cause? and what is the best solution?
So - I got to thinking - are some analogies so far fetched that they should be reconsidered before being spoken? Do the images presented actually confuse the issue? |
