Life of a sound engineer Life of a sound engineer Having been in the music industry since 1993 I have come to realize it's ups and downs. I have seen the music industry come up! Only to strugle becuase of new technology. Yet, still strive. I have been all over from S.F. to Florida and have been a part in many trends in the club scene; dance clubs, rock venues, underground, not thought of. Being a part of Hollywood I soon relized how closed nit it is, in tinsle town. As a people person I used my talents to do some interesting, rewarding projects. Highly anticipated musician/producer/engineer workshop at Jim Henson's studio's is the day I met top notch producers, one was the producer for Carlos Santana. He produced some of Carlos's most popular music that went platnium in recent years. I had the honor to watch him work. To see that & work with Lelia, the girl singer as they created a wounderful song. One of the most amazing things to have witnessed. This one time I got hit up to do a live show at a "place" named Yoga Villa, if your ever out in Hollywood check it out. When I showed up to this Old Victorian House I did not know what to expect, let me tell you... This amazing lady answers the door, hottness I must say, I was lost for words. She gave a big smile, probably noticing I was infatuated with her and invited me in. The place is off the hook, I mean huge, awsome decore, and all around dope people. I end up working with some top notch musicians that night doing there sound and taking pictures. Afterwords had a couple of drinks, hey why not there free, mingling with all the pep's. A few weeks later I find out an interesting fact as I was back at the Yoga Villa doing a live show again. Turns out the hottness is an actor, and not just an actor but a working actor...Ever seen Desperate House Wifes? Yep, blew my mind! Especially becuase the first night we met she did! In fact. Give me, a little flirt of her own. Either way, what an ego boost... O and by the way! This is long before that show. Now I must say. I could care less about celeberties, it's just a job that they do. Just so happens we get to watch what they do, instead of telling someone what they do. There is this club right around the corner from our house in Hollywood Hills, very nice and always free to get in. So we meet the owner, got the plug and before you know it we are getting free drinks on the house. So this one night, Damon Waynes show's up. I could'nt tell you how much money he was spending on drinks, not to mention how many fine ass girls were hitting on this guy. I am like "Dam Damon"... The funny thing is about that night, you think people would be tripping on him and shit, nope! Just another night in Hollywood. Whats even funnier? We were still getting free drinks... LOL, I love me. I helped at a live show/charity event at, of all people, Michael Jackson's (insert jokes here) house. What was really cool about that gig is that I actually new several people their and made some new contacts to top it of.
